How guests upload photos

Scan the code or tap the link, then add photos from the phone. There is no separate app to install first.

Key takeaways

  • Guests join with a QR code or a link. They do not install PicBee from an app store first.
  • The gallery opens in the phone browser on iPhone and Android.
  • The host decides whether guests can upload, and whether downloads are on.
  • A free gallery holds 10 photos. A busy event needs a paid plan before that cap.
  • Face search is a separate step, and it is included from Premium.
  • If the code will not open, ask the host for the plain link and paste it into the browser.

Find the code or the link

The host prints a QR code for the room and usually sends the same gallery as a link. Look on the table, the entrance sign, the invitation, or the group chat.

You only need one of them. The code and the link open the same gallery.

Open it on your phone

  1. Point the camera at the QR code, or tap the link.
  2. The gallery opens in the phone browser. Nothing to install.

You do not need a PicBee account to view

Uploading uses the gallery the host already created. You are not signing up for a new app.

Add photos

Tap upload, then pick photos from the camera roll or take a new one. They land in the shared gallery so the host and the other guests can see them, subject to the host's download settings.

Paid plans keep original quality. The free gallery stops at 10 photos for the whole event, so if upload fails late in the night, the host may have hit that cap.

Downloads and who can see photos

The host controls downloads. If the button is missing, the host turned downloads off. Ask them. You can still look through the gallery.

Albums are the host's way of grouping photos after the event. You do not have to sort anything when you upload.

If it will not open

  • Move closer to the printed code, or brighten the screen if you are scanning a phone.
  • Ask the host to text the link and open that instead.
  • Turn off a VPN if the page will not load.
  • If the gallery says it is full, the host needs a larger plan. That is not something you can fix from your phone.

Common questions

Do I need to download an app?

No. Open the QR code or the link, and the gallery opens in the browser.

Can I upload if I arrived late?

Yes, as long as the host still has the gallery open and there is room in the photo limit.

Why can I not download a photo?

The host controls downloads on paid plans. Ask them to turn downloads on if you need a copy.

Open a gallery
